We spent our weekend, down at the cabin, as our weekends have gone since the end of October....
This is such an exciting time for us, as we are building our home...
To be together as a family of two plus a pup....
To grow into with children and fill to the seams with love for our family....
And to see ourselves down the road back to a family of two....
~Yes, this is a very exciting and wonderful time~
As i sit and walk around our cabin (all weekend :)) i am always dreaming of where i will set up our furniture, and how it will feel in each space. Then sometimes i am thinking that i am completely overwhelmed with the fact that we built this home, and it is totally ours! I feel like the luckiest woman in the world.
Sunday afternoon, i found myself sitting in front of our new wood stove, on the bench (actually a pile of boards, yet to find their place), staring into the fire that has become such a beautiful focal point of our home....I turned around to see where Jason was, and what he was doing, and what caught my eye, but a beautiful image on the column that is in the center of our living room.
A natural heart, inscribed in the wood....
This has got to be one of the coolest things i have ever seen!!!!
Yep! so for the next 50+ years, we will have a homemade heart, in the center of our home....
End of the day Sunday, looking into the living room from the upstairs front bedroom.....dreaming of children, furniture and window treatments :)
My beautiful ring, that i still find myself staring at quite often...
This interesting picture is about 10pm on Friday night...we are somewhere in the woods between northfield and Belmont, Jas had to get out to cut a limb off a tree so we could get through with the groomer....wow i love this man....
A few moments i want to savor and remember:
~snuggling up on Friday night in front of our wood stove, with charlie at our feet....it was so peaceful, neither one of us saying a word, just staring into the fire and feeling totally grounded at that moment~
~listening to Jason and Jared tell stories for 4+ hours in the groomer on Friday night, laughing like crazy, while Jared blasted country music and Jason made up his own lyrics, to try to drown out the country, while i laugh in the backseat as this reminds me of my brothers doing the same thing not so long ago~
~Reading the newspaper in front of our wood stove to warm up after bringing in loads of firewood and feeling so grateful for our free warmth~
~Laughing as Jason wakes me up on the dreaded Monday morning with a tackle and snuggle hug, savoring the last few minutes of the weekend, and of course charlie finds his way into the snuggle time~
~Being so happy with everything in my life, and looking so forward to marring my best friend in four short months~
How wonderful this life is.
